Applicants must submit a financial statement that has been reviewed by a CPA that is less than 12 months old showing net worth. Specialty classifications must have a net worth of at least $20,000. contractors license feesThe exam fee is $120 for 1 portion or $240 for two portions of testing. The Business and Law Examination is required for Residential Builders. It will cost $200 for a contractors license in one classification. Each contractors license is good for one year only.

The Mississippi Residential exam has 80 questions and a time limit of 3 hours. A 70% is required to pass the exam.
